In love... x2 // Kailua Beach Portrait Photographer

Cynthia contacted me a while back to do something that I have never done before: a double portrait session. I said "why not?!" :) Both couples are planning to tie the knot in 2013, and decided to escape the cold Canadian weather for a warm Hawaiian vacation. They brought their dresses and suits and we met on the windward side of Oahu for some formal yet fun photos. Shave ice from Island Snow was a must as well. Thanks for the fun times guys!

Lili + Jason // Hawaii Wedding Photographer

I had the pleasure of shooting Jason & Lili's November backyard wedding. Jason & Lili planned a very elegant and intimate wedding with their family and a few close friends at Jason's parents home. The flowers were by Steven Boyle Design and the reception was catered by 3660 On The Rise (delicious!). I'm such a huge fan of backyard weddings, and Lili & Jason did everything right. Congratulations you two!

Gwyenne // Hawaii Wedding Photographer

Gwyenne chose to do some bridal portraits in Kailua a few weeks before her wedding, and I'm so glad she did! After shooting her engagement photos a few months ago I knew we would have a blast. Gwyenne has a very vivacious spirit that shines through so comfortably and I hope that I have captured that in these photos. She just got married (yesterday!) to her awesome husband Kyle and I can't wait to share those photos soon as well. Enjoy!

Film // Hawaii Wedding Photographer

When I was young my dad introduced me to photography with a Pentax K1000. Simple, fully manual, and no shiny lcd on the back. We would go on photo adventures in the mountains and photograph rivers, trees, pinecones, insects, flowers, and anything else that we found interesting. That was my introduction to photography. However, somewhere between those years and the introduction of digital cameras, I completely forgot about film and had no desire to shoot it. But that's about to change! I've been bitten by the film bug...again. A few months ago I conjured up (with the help of some amazing family members) a Canon AE-1 and shot off a few rolls. It was very scary not seeing an image right away, and I had to keep myself from looking at the back of the camera to check my exposure. Film went off and scans came back. I quickly realized that focusing on the AE-1 is not my strong point, as half of them were out of focus. The split-line/circle focusing screen apparently does not like my eyes it would seem.

I'm just sharing a few photos. In no way are any of these photos technically perfect, but they are perfect to me because of the people in them and because they were shot on film.
